Project Jericho Encourages Community to Vote for Their Favorite Scarecrow

Project Scare-A-Crow, an annual fall tradition, returns to downtown Springfield starting October 16. Assisted by professional artist Sherry Ringler, Project Jericho families will build 12 scarecrows that depict specific careers that can be pursued through degrees and certificate programs offered at Clark State Community College.

Clark State Receives Cummins Engine and Generator for Diesel Program

Clark State Community College – along with industry-wide partners – continues to strive toward closing skills-gaps in the local workforce. The Clark State Diesel Technology program received a 150-kilowatt generator and engine donated by Cummins Bridegway, LLC based in Michigan. The equipment will allow Clark State students to learn about electric power generation.

Summer Semester 2015 Dean's List

Clark State Community College has announced the names of students for the 2015 Summer Semester Dean's List. Sixteen (16) full-time students (those taking 12 or more credit hours) and two hundred fifty-seven (257) part-time students (those taking 6-11 credit hours) earned a 3.5 grade point average or better to receive dean's list honors.

Clark State to Host Diversity Training for Clark County Law Enforcement

Clark State Community College will host diversity and awareness training for officers from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, September 9, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Brinkman Educational Center, 100 South Limestone Street. The training is a collaboration between Clark State, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Springfield Chapter of the NAACP. It will cover numerous topics based around building a culture of respect.

Clark State Approved by Community College of the Air Force as GEM Partner School

Clark State Community College has been approved by the Community College of the Air Force as a General Education Mobile (GEM) partner. Clark State is the first community college in Ohio to receive this approval. CCAF students are able to search GEM school partners and register for classes online via the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC) portal.

Clark State Honors 133 Adjunct Faculty for Years of Service

Clark State Community College recognized more than 130 adjunct faculty members for their years of service at a gathering held August 19 at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center. Shashi Chadha was recognized for her service as an adjunct instructor for Clark State for 35 years.

Clark State and Wright State to Dedicate New Pedestrian Bridge Joining Beavercreek Campuses

Clark State Community College and Wright State University will celebrate continued joint efforts toward student success and accessibility with a dedication ceremony for a newly constructed pedestrian bridge, further connecting the higher learning institutions. The pedestrian bridge will connect the Clark State Greene Center campus with the Wright State University campus, both located in Beavercreek, Ohio. The dedication ceremony will be held on Friday, August 28 at 2 p.m.

Blondin Marks Two-Year Anniversary with Clark State

Although she doesn’t yet have pictures hung on the walls of her house, Dr. Jo Alice Blondin has now called Springfield, Ohio, “home” for two years. On July 1 of 2013, Blondin began her tenure as president of Clark State Community College, having made the move from Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus where she served as chancellor and professor of English for seven years.

Clark State Community College Begins Flying UAS for Precision Agriculture

Clark State Community College has initiated flying Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) as part of their new precision agriculture program. The new program is designed to prepare students for employment with companies using geospatial technologies, including geographic information systems (GIS) and global positioning systems (GPS) applied to agricultural production or management activities, such as pest scouting, site-specific pesticide application, yield mapping or variable-rate irrigation.

Clark State Theatre Arts Sets Audition Dates, Will Offer Free Student Tickets

The Clark State Theatre Arts Program will present two theatre productions during the 2015-16 academic year. Laughter on the 23rd Floor by Neil Simon will be presented in the Turner Studio Theatre of the Clark State Performing Arts Center on November 19, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m. and November 21 and 22 at 2 p.m. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m., September 8 and 9.
