Clark State Professor Honored for Poetry Once More

Clark State Community College Professor Chris Bays has been honored for his poem “Brambles,” which took first place in a national poetry contest sponsored by the Haiku Society of America for Best Unpublished Haibun of 2020 and for his poems “Lingering Darkness” and “Regimented”, which were selected by Sean O’Connor and a board of editors for The Haibun Journal of Ireland for 2020-2021. The Haibun Journal archives all published work in The National Archive, Trinity College Dublin, Oxford, Cambridge, and Edinburgh Universities of England.

Live Performances to Return to Clark State Performing Arts Center In October

Although the experience may be slightly different, live performances are returning to the Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC) for the first time since March. The PAC is thrilled to “Welcome Home” patrons of the arts with a collaborative performance by the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) Friday, October 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Clark State Fall Athletics Postponed to Spring Semester Under Guidance from NJCAA

Clark State Community College athletics has postponed its fall sports season to the spring semester of 2021. The decision was made under the guidance of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). NJCAA announced its adjusted plan of action for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year with a majority of competition shifted to the spring semester.

Clark State Commencement Video Now Available

Clark State Community College will celebrate commencement with a video ceremony available for online viewing at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 15. The Clark State Class of 2020 features 577 candidates for graduation who will receive their degree or certificate of completion.
