Student athletes earn academic honors

Twenty Clark State College student athletes have earned All-Academic Honors from the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference for earning a 3.3 grade point average or higher with at least 12 credit hours during the fall 2024 semester.

“These dedicated students have not only excelled in their respective sports, but have also maintained outstanding academic records,” said Nazarae Butler, director of athletics and student engagement. “Their hard work, perseverance and commitment to both athletics and academics embody the spirit of Clark State College. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to their continued success both in the classroom and on the field or court.”

Members of the Eagles baseball team who earned All-Academic Honors are Brayden Black, a general studies major from Cincinnati; Tyler Brooks, a general studies major from Fort Wayne, Ind.; Adam Buerger, a general transfer major from Gahanna; Jax Byrd, a computer software development major from Huber Heights; Kegin Dotson, a business major from Springfield; Edison Fry, a general studies major from Springfield; Gabriel Ledbetter, a general studies major from Dayton; Kaden Pew, a general studies major from Gahanna; Ayden Schuhler, a physical therapy major from Fort Wayne, Ind.; Luke Shearer, a general studies major from Lewis Center; Jimmy Snyder, a management major from Huber Heights; and Logan Weiner, a business and real estate major from London.

Basketball athletes who earned All-Academic Honors are Ziyan Ali, a business major from College Station, Texas; Emah Carrasco, a registered nursing major from Dayton; and Madilynn Moore, a registered nursing major from Dayton.

Kiley Gibson, a member of the softball team, education major and resident of Springfield also earned All-Academic Honors.

The following members of the Eagles volleyball team earned All-Academic Honors: Aubrey Burns, an agricultural business major from Milford Center; Eva Moore, a diagnostic medical sonography major from Xenia; Bailey Poppe, a communication major from Urbana; and Emma Sallot, a general studies major from Springfield.

In addition to the student athletes, more than 1,200 Clark State students were named to the Dean’s List for taking six or more credit hours and earning a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
