February 22, 2022

The audience won’t believe their eyes as the late music legends Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly come together for an unforgettable one-of-a-kind, holographic performance at the Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC).

The Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly Rock-N-Roll Hologram Dream Tour includes Rock ‘n’ Roll pioneers Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly as they literally come alive before the audience’s eyes.

Featuring remastered audio alongside a live band and backup singers, the ultra-realistic, holographic experience will suspend all disbelief. This cutting-edge holographic performance with remastered audio will transport fans back in time for an evening of their greatest hits.

“I saw a part of the production in New York City about four years ago. I couldn’t believe my eyes; it was so real,” said Adele Adkins, executive director of the Clark State Performing Arts Center. “The audience was dancing and having such a wonderful experience. I have tried to bring this show ever since. Thanks to the creators of this production, we can experience being at a concert with a Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison.”

Born on April 23, 1936, in Vernon, Texas, Orbison formed his first band at age 13. The singer-songwriter dropped out of college to pursue music. He signed with Monument Records and recorded such ballads as “Only the Lonely” and “It’s Over.” Orbison was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Nearly one year later, in December 1988, he died of a heart attack.

Born on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, Holly was an American singer/songwriter who produced some of the most distinctive and influential work in rock music. Already well versed in several music styles, he was a seasoned performer by age 16. With hits such as ‘Peggy Sue’ and ‘That’ll Be the Day,’ Buddy Holly was a rising star but his life was cut short in a tragic plane crash in 1959 at the age of 22.

The Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly Rock-N-Roll Hologram Dream Tour will begin at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 24. Tickets are $25 - $45 (plus fees) and are available at ticketmaster.com or by calling the box office at 937.328.3874.

All patrons, staff and volunteers are required to wear masks at all times, regardless of vaccination status.  This applies to all Clark State locations including the Clark State Performing Arts Center and Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center.
