VIQTORY, a veteran-owned business that connects the military community to civilian employment and educational opportunities, has named Clark State to the Gold Level as a Military-Friendly School.
“We are very honored and proud of this achievement,” said Diana Seaman, registrar at Clark State who applied for the designation. “Clark State is dedicated to creating meaningful connections with veterans and military communities. Our faculty, staff, workforce and advisors strive to empower military students to continue their education and obtain career advancement. This designation reinforces that Clark State offers programs and services to help our military communities thrive in their post-military educations and careers.”
To be named to the Gold Level, an institution must provide in-depth documentation about their military services, programs, successes and opportunities. A college must also meet minimum thresholds for academic policy and compliance, student retention, graduation and career outcomes, culture and commitment, financial aid and loan repayment, as well as admissions and orientation, for all students, specifically student veterans.
Clark State remains the number one Military Spouse-Friendly School in the nation, and in September, recommitted to being a military advocate by signing a Statement of Support with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. As such, Clark State remains committed to honoring the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, providing resources for managers, and recognizing the unique skills and leadership that service members bring to the workforce.
Clark State also offers a 50 percent reduced tuition rate and priority registration to all Active military, Reserve and Ohio National Guard members, as well as their spouses. In 2025, 357 military affiliated students enrolled at Clark State.
On April 28, Clark State will induct 10 of these students into SALUTE, the national honor society which recognizes and honors the service and the scholastic achievements of veteran and military students. All honorees have earned a 3.0 or higher grade point average.
Clark State is also the first college in Ohio to receive the Purple Heart Campus designation, recognizing its purposeful approach to supporting military-affiliated populations, and in 2022, Clark State received the Collegiate Purple Star designation from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Further, the college collaborates with the Community College of the Air Force to offer online courses that meet the requirements for the associate of applied science degree.
