Clark State Welcomes Tony Award-Winning Cabaret to the Performing Arts Center

January 7, 2018

The Clark State Community College Performing Arts Center will welcome the National Broadway Tour ofCabaret on Wednesday, January 10.

As part of their 50th Anniversary Season, the critically acclaimed and award-winning Roundabout Theatre Company is proud to present Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall’s (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films) Tony Award-winning production of Cabaret.

“This is a production based on the Tony Award-winning 1998 revival,” said Adele Adkins, executive director for the Clark State Performing Arts Center. “Cabaret is still winningly impressive and powerfully poignant to experience on stage after all these years.”

At the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd and leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-World War II Germany grows more and more uncertain, will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times?

The audience will enjoy some of the most memorable songs in theatre history, including “Cabaret,” “Willkommen” and “Maybe This Time.”

Tickets for Cabaret are available at ticketmaster.com and range from $53 to $63. Cabaret begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 South Fountain Avenue in downtown Springfield.
