Clark State President Blondin Welcomed as New Member of the Alliance of Innovation & Transformation

April 13, 2020

Clark State Community College President Dr. Jo Alice Blondin has been accepted as a new member of the Alliance of Innovation & Transformation (AFIT).

Blondin was introduced to the organization by AFIT Secretary & Treasurer Dr. Jackie Elliott. After joining AFIT as a guest at the 2020 CEO Forum & Reps Meeting in Denver, Colorado, Blondin applied for AFIT membership.

"Clark State is always looking to innovate," said Clark State President Dr. Jo Alice Blondin. "We wanted to join a learning community of innovators and difference makers who are focused on student success and excellence."

Clark State is at a critical time in its evolution, the College has maximized its funding from the State of Ohio through its performance, and it's looking at next-level opportunities to distinguish it from the other 22 community colleges in Ohio.

"We have tweaked our mission as well to include education at the baccalaureate level and would like to develop these degrees and others with an entrepreneurial spirit, fully recognizing that others have been on this journey, and we can learn from them,” said Blondin.

AFIT is an alliance of forward-thinking institutions committed to leading by example how to innovate and transform organizations in the face of unprecedented challenge and change.

AFIT offers learning, development and networking opportunities focused on customer-driven value, innovation, transformation skills and techniques and approaches to help colleges and other organizations achieve the long-term sustainability necessary for their survival.

Melanie Toles, executive assistant to the president and coordinator of special projects at Clark State, will serve as the College's AFIT representative.
