Clark State Performing Arts Center Welcomes Country Music Star Josh Turner

March 25, 2016

County music star Josh Turner will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 South Limestone Street, in downtown Springfield.

Turner’s performance is part of this year’s Circle of Friends Celebration. “We are extremely excited to have Josh Turner perform at the celebration,” said Adele Adkins, executive director of the Clark State Performing Arts Center. The Circle of Friends Celebration will include an invitation-only dinner, but tickets for Josh Turner will be available to the public.

Turner, a double-platinum-selling singer and songwriter, is one of the youngest members of the Grand Ole Opry.

Turner’s first album, “Haywire” yielded two Number 1 hits: “Why Don’t We Just Dance” and “All Over Me.” His latest album, “Punching Bag” features 11 songs, 8 of them penned by Turner including, “Punching Bag.”

“I wanted to express the idea that life is tough,” Turner said on his website, joshturner.com. “You get a lot of punches thrown at you, and a lot of times you’re not in control. But you have to take those punches and keep moving forward.”

The Josh Turner performance is proudly sponsored by Security National Bank and Kapp Construction.

Tickets for Josh Turner will go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 1. Tickets range in price from $40 - $100 and will be available online at ticketmaster.com or by calling (937) 328-3874.
