Clark State Performing Arts Center to Continue Light It Blue Campaign Through May

April 29, 2020

The Clark State Performing Arts Center (PAC) in downtown Springfield, Ohio, will continue the Light It Blue campaign first introduced to the community on April 23. The Light It Blue campaign began sweeping the nation’s theaters and landmarks on April 9 and originally included 100 Broadway theaters and some major landmarks in the United States. This initiative has been continued on Thursday nights across the United States.

The PAC, located at 300 South Fountain Avenue, will continue to be illuminated with messages in blue on Thursdays through May 28, from 8 - 10 p.m. to honor and express gratitude to all of the healthcare employees, first responders and essential workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We decided to continue with Light It Blue because we had such an overwhelming response to it,” said Adele Adkins, executive director of the PAC. “We need every positive message of hope and thanks as possible and the Performing Arts Center is pleased to be a small part of that.”

JR Riechers, the PAC’s lighting designer, has drafted the designs for this project and will be installing the lights and messages on the building.

The PAC is currently closed to all in-person events through May 10 of this year to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Visitors to the Light It Blue display are asked to maintain a safe physical distance or remain in vehicles.
