Clark State Performing Arts Center Continues Celebration with Choir of Man

October 11, 2018

Dubbed across the globe as the “Ultimate Feel Good Show,” Clark State Community College will continue to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Performing Arts Center with a 5-Star rated performance by the Choir of Man.

“Choir of Man will be the most fun show the entire year, hands down,” said Adele Adkins, executive director of the Clark State Performing Arts Center.

The Choir of Man is a pint-filled good time set in a working pub that combines harmonies, high energy dance and live percussion with foot stomping choreography. The cast of nine talented men sing everything from pub tunes, folk songs, Broadway and classic rock.

Adkins said the show starts a half an hour before the actual performance starts. “The entire cast comes out, and the audience is invited to the stage for a party where the cast serves free beer,” she said. “The cast of guys sing, dance, tell stories and play instruments.”

The show features music by Paul Simon, Adele, Queen, Guns N’ Roses, Sia and many more; as well as jokes, skits and monologues.

“Since it is the Performing Arts Center’s 25th Anniversary I thought, what a great party this would be,” said Adkins. “It is the show I’m most excited about this season.”

The Choir of Man begins at 8 p.m., Friday, October 26 at the Clark State Performing Arts Center, 300 South Fountain Avenue in downtown Springfield. Tickets range from $25 to $45 and are available at ticketmaster.com.
