The Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education recognized three Clark State College employees with its prestigious Awards of Excellence. The recipients are Pamela Ball, professor in the School of Business and Applied Technologies; Adam Parrillo, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business and Applied Technologies; and Diana Seaman, registrar.

Ball received the Faculty Excellence Award for her outstanding contributions in teaching, service and scholarship. A member of multiple strategic teams and committees, Ball is wholly dedicated to student success, evidenced by her active participation in initiatives such as the Achieving the Dream Strategy Team, the Resource Management Committee, the Faculty Mentoring Program and the Faculty Success Academy. In addition, Ball implements practices in her courses that have a high-impact on student achievement, such as regular touch-base meetings with students and appropriate messaging to provide comprehensive understanding of course processes and material.

The Campus Impact Award, for exceptional performance and positive influence across a campus, went to Parrillo. Known for his collaborative spirit and innovative approaches, Parrillo has been instrumental in fostering cross-campus relationships to benefit students and the community. His deep commitment to educational excellence and student advancement can be seen in his work to support students with educational options, financial assistance through grants and scholarships, and career awareness and placement through business partnerships.

Seaman was honored with the Staff Excellence Award for exemplary leadership and dedication to student success. As registrar, Seaman ensures all Clark State registration processes are professional, as well as personalized and understandable to students. She works proactively when processes change so there is minimal disruption to students, ensures graduation ceremonies are student-centered and manages veteran student benefits and services, the latter of which significantly contributed to Clark State’s recognition as the nation's number one Military Friendly School for active-duty members and their spouses.

"Clark State is immensely proud of the achievements of faculty and staff whose dedication and excellence continue to propel the college forward, " said Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D., president. "Our three SOCHE award winners continue to make a significant impact on students and colleagues. We are honored to be able to include such outstanding professionals on the Clark State team."
