Clark State College has appointed Dr. Scott Dolan as Dean of Health, Human and Public Services (HHPS). He currently serves as Director of Nursing at Clark State.
Dolan is a dedicated and skilled academic leader with more than 17 years of experience as a nurse educator and seven years of experience as an academic leader.
“I am excited to have been selected as the new Dean of the Health Human and Public Services Division at Clark State College,” said Dolan. “I look forward to working with an amazing team of educators, staff, and partners in the Clark and Green County areas to recruit a diverse group of students, as well as create and strengthen innovative program offerings to meet the needs of our community partners.”
As an Associate Dean of Educational Innovation, Programs, and Partnerships at Mt. Carmel College of Nursing, Dolan led a large undergraduate program through the strategic planning process, change for growth, creation of new innovative programs and faculty positions, and in the completion/attainment of program accreditations from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, (CCNE), and the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN).
Dolan brings experience in establishing and maintaining community partnerships to enhance student recruitment, admission, and transition to the healthcare profession. Previous work experiences include the role of registered nurse in both the medical surgical and critical care settings. He also has leadership experience as an officer in the United States Navy.
Dolan holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education (PhD) from Capella University.
“I am very grateful for the work of the faculty and staff who served on the search committee for this position,” said Dr. Adrienne Forgette, vice president of academic affairs at Clark State. “I am also deeply appreciative of the excellent work that Dr. Barb Shelby has done as the Interim Dean.”
Dolan will begin his tenure in the role of dean of HHPS on March 13, 2023.
