Clark State and TechAdvisors Announce New Partnership

December 3, 2020

Clark State Community College and TechAdvisors have partnered to bring hands-on learning to students seeking careers in information technology.

TechAdvisors, a local IT firm started in Springfield, Ohio, and Clark State will offer students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience. Through their partnership, Clark State students will have first-in-line access to call center jobs, on-site trouble-shooting positions and engineering roles. TechAdvisors has found their past interns to be model employees, often hiring them once their degrees are completed.

“Working with interns has been a great way to keep our company fully staffed,” said TechAdvisors President Randall East. “We have many former interns who are now full-time employees in roles from sales, to call-center, to on-site technicians.”

In addition to hosting students, TechAdvisors Project Management and Procurement Director Shaun Foor will be serving on Clark State’s Computer Networking and CyberSecurity Advisory Committee.

Foor, who is a Clark State alumnus, along with a team of other noted professionals, will give input on real-world scenarios to better shape the program’s curriculum development.

“Clark State has been such a positive influence in my life, I can’t wait to give back,” said Foor.

The advisory committee’s goal is to help shape the future of education for students who focus on IT and cyber security.

“Clark State’s Career Services is thrilled with the new partnership with TechAdvisors,” said Melody Gast, Career Services coordinator at Clark State. “Co-ops and internships provide our students with a unique opportunity to advance their in-demand skills through mentored experiences. TechAdvisors is a great example of how local employers can invest in a student’s education while creating a strong recruiting pipeline.”

Interested students should contact Clark State's Career Services. The Career Services office assists the students with their resume before sending it on to TechAdvisors. TechAdvisors will select the students for the program.
