Theresa Felder, vice president of student affairs and Greene Center operations for Clark State Community College, has been accepted into the competitive-entry Executive Leadership Institute (ELI). The ELI is part of the League for Innovation in the Community College, an international nonprofit organization with a mission to cultivate innovation in the community college environment.

Johns Hopkins STEM Programs to Return to Clark State Summer 2017

Clark State Community College is recruiting middle school and high school students from Madison, Clark, Champaign, Logan, Miami, Montgomery and Greene counties for the Johns Hopkins University Engineering Innovation and Phone & Games programs to be held in the summer of 2017. The programs are offered at no charge to students.

Clark State to Hold Graduation for Paramedic Students

Clark State Community College will hold a graduation ceremony for paramedic students on Tuesday, December 13, at the Clark State Brinkman Educational Center in downtown Springfield. The Paramedic Certification program is offered at Clark State’s Bellefontaine and Springfield campuses and provides quality education in advanced out-of-hospital emergency care.

Clark State to Pin More Than 70 New Nursing School Graduates

The Clark State Community College – Springfield Regional School of Nursing will hold pinning ceremonies for more than 70 graduating nurses who have completed their programs of study at the conclusion of fall semester. The pinning ceremony for registered nursing students will be held December 7 and the pinning ceremony for the practical nursing students will be held December 8.

Clark State Will Host College Credit Plus Informational Session

Clark State Community College will host a College Credit Plus (CCP) informational event for local high schools and students on Tuesday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center in downtown Springfield. The College Credit Plus program allows students to earn college credits while in high school, all at no cost. This state-funded program covers tuition, books and fees.

Clark State Will Host Mobile Food Pantry for Students, Community Each Month

Clark State Community College will begin hosting the Second Harvest Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry on a monthly basis. Former Clark State student and Wittenberg graduate Melissa Archambeau serves as coordinator of the Mobile Food Pantry which was on Clark State’s campus for a trial-run in October. With no advertising for the event, they served 48 families, a total of 161 individuals.

Clark State to Receive Student Completion Grant from Great Lakes

Clark State Community College has been selected to receive a second grant from the Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation. The first grant was awarded in 2015 and is being used to address student financial emergency situations. The second grant, in the amount of $199,643, will be used for student completion programs offered through the College.

Clark State Will Honor Veterans, Named Top School by MAE&T

Clark State Community College will commemorate Veterans Day with various campus activities including the display of 2,000 United States flags on the Leffel Lane campus, the Greene Center campus in Beavercreek and the Bellefontaine campus. The POW/MIA flag will also be erected on the flag pole of the Leffel Lane campus.

Clark State Community College welcomes the highly acclaimed Broadway musical RENT to the Performing Arts Center for one night only as part of the show’s 20th Anniversary Tour. RENT, an original rock musical composed by Johnathan Larson, opened in 1996 and has been awarded a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®.
