MLK luncheon and awards ceremony on Jan. 17

On Jan. 17, Clark State College will hold the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon and Awards Ceremony from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Hollenbeck Bayley Creative Arts and Conference Center, 275 S. Limestone St. in Springfield. The community event honors the life and legacy of MLK and celebrates local youth and community members who exemplify his values.

State approves Clark State bachelor’s in nursing program

As part of Clark State College’s work to provide robust academic programming that meets workforce needs, the Ohio Department of Higher Education recently approved Clark State’s application to offer students a bachelor of science in nursing program. With ODHE approval in hand, Clark State is now working toward obtaining final program approval from the Higher Learning Commission, with the hopes of launching a nursing bachelor’s degree option, also known as a BSN completion program, in the fall of 2025.

Leading national agriculture education initiatives

Clark State College, a founding member of the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement and the hub for the Ohio Center for Precision Agriculture, has announced a groundbreaking initiative with the U.S. Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service: a $9 million, four-year program to create a national agriculture center for two-year colleges and connect more students to agriculture career pathways.

Designed to enhance career opportunities and equip professionals with highly-sought after skills, both workshops will be held at Clark State’s Brinkman Education Center, 100 S. Limestone St. in Springfield.

Statement on the passing of Congressman Dave Hobson

Statement on the Passing of Congressman Dave Hobson by Jo Alice Blondin, Ph.D., President, Clark State College: I am deeply saddened by the passing of an iconic leader: Congressman Dave Hobson. His tireless efforts and impact as a legislator are widely seen throughout southwestern Ohio and beyond. While he was no longer serving in Congress when I came to Clark State in July 2013, Hobson was a trusted and incredibly knowledgeable community leader and resource who provided advocacy, perspective and advice that positively impacted Clark State College and Clark County, Ohio. Due to his leadership and vision, Clark State’s Beavercreek campus was established to better serve and extend Clark State’s educational reach to Greene County. His wisdom, kindness, and advocacy will truly be missed.

Reaffirming commitment to military service members

Clark State College recently recommitted to being an advocate for the military by signing a Statement of Support with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. As such, Clark State remains committed to honoring the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, providing resources for managers, and recognizing the unique skills and leadership that service members bring to the workforce.

Mannheim Steamroller returns on December 12

Free Engineering Fest engages guests in heavy metals and more
