Parents/Guardians
College Credit Plus is an accelerated program that allows high school students to simultaneously earn credit toward high school completion and a college degree.
Through this program, students will take college courses to start them on a path toward a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. The best part about your student earning these hours is that tuition, books, and additional fees are completely covered. We look forward to working with your student as they start on the path to higher education.
If your student is interested in this program, you and your student should attend an information session at the high school before March 30 as well as sign an intent form at the school by April 1.
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
Parents have certain rights with respect to their children’s educational records. These rights transfer to the student when he/she reaches 18 years or older, or when they attend a school beyond the high school level. Access to the student’s record by parents or guardians is only permitted when a written release of information is signed by the student. By signing the CCP application, a student gives Clark State permission to share his/her educational record with school district personnel, including the counselor, principal and superintendent.
If your student wishes to give you permission to his/her educational record, they will need to complete and submit the FERPA Release form to the Records and Registration Office.
The subject matter of a course enrolled in under the college credit plus program may include mature subject matter or materials, including those of a graphic, explicit, violent, or sexual nature, that will not be modified based upon college credit plus enrollee participation regardless of where course instruction occurs.
