This program is available at the Springfield - Leffel Lane location.The Social Services Pathway of the Associate of Arts degree emphasizes transfer preparation for pursuing a bachelor's degree in social work. An Associate of Arts degree provides the foundational knowledge and skills in general education that are often required to pursue a Bachelor’s degree. Courses in this pathway focus on social welfare, sociology, and chemical dependency. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for seamless transfer into a Bachelor of Arts program, particularly at state institutions in Ohio. It is not designed to prepare students for the skills needed to obtain employment in the field of social work upon completion of the associate degree.
