Cyber-Networking Technical Certificate
This program is available at the Springfield - Leffel Lane location.This certificate includes curriculum designed to align with foundational industry recognized certifications in Cybersecurity and Computer Networking, along with additional courses to further support these technical skills and knowledge. Speficially, this certificate aligns with the CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, and CompTIA Network+ certifications. The certifications are not included in this curriculum, so students completing these courses must pursue the certification exams separately.
The A+ certification (Core 1 and Core 2) emphasize the technologies and skills IT pros need to support a hybrid workforce:
- Increased reliance on SaaS applications for remote work
- How to remotely diagnose and correct common software, hardware or connectivity problems
- Evolving core technologies from cloud virtualization and IoT device security to data management and scripting
- Multiple operating systems, when to use them and how to keep them running properly
- Reflects the changing nature of the job, including how to assess if it’s best to fix something on site, or send it to a specialized provider
The Security+ certification verifies that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to:
- Assess the security posture of an enterprise environment and recommend and implement appropriate security solutions.
- Monitor and secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, Internet of Things (IoT), and operational technology.
- Operate with an awareness of applicable regulations and policies, including principles of governance, risk, and compliance.
- Identify, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents.
The Network+ certification verifies that the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to:
- Establish network connectivity by deploying wired and wireless devices.
- Understand and maintain network documentation.
- Understand the purpose of network services.
- Understand basic datacenter, cloud and virtual networking concepts.
- Monitor network activity, identifying performance and availability issues.
- Implement network hardening techniques.
- Manage, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure.
Outcomes and Curriculum
- Demonstrate knowledge of computer and network systems terms and concepts.
- Install, manage, and configure network operating systems.
- Install, configure, manage, and maintain network-based voice, audio, and video technologies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of computer and network security terms and concepts.
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot network security software.
