As part of National Nurses Week, May 6-12, Clark State College has announced it will offer a bachelor’s degree nursing program, also known as a BSN completion program, in the fall of 2025. The addition of this program means Clark State students can now complete an entire nursing track, earning licensed practical nursing certificates, registered nursing associate degrees and now bachelor’s degrees in nursing.

The Ohio Department of Higher Education awarded Clark State College a $180,871 Regionally Aligned Priorities in Delivering Skills, or RAPIDS, grant to acquire advanced manufacturing equipment and expand its career training programs in engineering, robotics and industrial technology. The grant supports Clark State’s ongoing commitment to aligning educational programs with workforce needs, strengthening regional economic development and preparing students for high-demand careers in the manufacturing sector.

The third annual Matthew Yates Memorial Basketball Tournament will take place at 9 a.m. on March 29 at Tecumseh High School, 9830 W. National Road in New Carlisle. Proceeds from the event benefit the Clark State College Matthew Yates Memorial Scholarship, an initiative that pays homage to Yates, a member of the Clark County Sheriff's Department who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his community in July 2022.

Scholarship opportunities for the Clark State College summer and fall 2025 semesters are now available for students to explore and prepare applications. With more than $500,000 in scholarships available, both incoming and returning students have the opportunity to apply for financial assistance based on need, academic achievement or program of study. Scholarship amounts range from $500 to $5,000 and do not need to be repaid.

Clark State has partnered with The Rosie Project, a non-profit dedicated to helping military spouses overcome career barriers, to create a program that provides military spouses in the region with skills and certifications needed to thrive in the field of information technology. The six-month academic program is open to military spouses of Active-Duty, Reserve, National Guard and Veterans, at no cost to spouses, at the Clark State Springfield campus.

The Clark State College Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is seeking volunteers to participate in ultrasound exams to help students gain experience using industry equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to observe a 2D ultrasound exam and receive thermal prints of their scan.

The Clark State College Board of Trustees unanimously accepted the appointment of Sharon Evans of Springfield as Board chairperson during their Jan. 21 reorganization meeting. Evans will replace David Ball of Fairborn who has served as Board member since 2015 and chairperson since 2023. Ball will continue his term as a Board member through 2026.
